Monthly Restorative Yoga Practice with Annie Neat

22nd February 14.00-16.00

Restorative Yoga is designed to support us to settle into our parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest part of our nervous system). This not only helps us to relax and destress but also can support us with connection to ourselves and others.

So what is it?
We hold simple, yet familiar, yoga poses for extended period of times. These yoga poses are supported by loads of props so that your body can slowly release into the poses. We are gently opening up the fascia (connective tissue) in the body which can support our physical and emotional wellness. This workshop really is suitable for everybody! We can work with injuries, illnesses and vulnerabilities you may be managing.

With her training in somatic therapy and breathwork, Annie offers skilful touch and presence to help you meet true rest.

Monthly Sound bath with Janet Holt

26th February 19.45-20.45

The last Thursday of every month Janet hosts a soundbath for relaxation. We all need time to ourselves to deeply relax, time away from the chatter of the mind and for healing to begin.

Soundbaths work by entraining the brain, it latches onto the sounds and frequencies so that it slows down.

We go from a busy active brain to calm relaxed brain state. By slowing everything down it helps us to process the day and starts the healing process for our minds and bodies.
Janet plays the Himalayan and crystals singing bowls, gong and ends with therapeutic percussion to welcome you back into the space.

You are the Medicine Workshop with Ruth Langley

1st March 13.00-15.00

Welcome Ritual & Intention Setting, Slow flow Yoga Sequences, Massage & Aromatherapy, Guided Meditation & Tea & Cake

Workshop inspired from this poem…

"Cure yourself, with the light of the Sun and the rays of the Moon.
With the Sound of the river and the waterfall.
With the swaying of the Sea and the fluttering of birds.
Heal yourself, with the mint and mint leaves, with neem and eucalyptus.
Sweeten yourself with lavender, rosemary, and chamomile.
Hug yourself with the cocoa bean and a touch of cinnamon.
Put Love in tea instead of sugar And take it looking at the Stars
Heal yourselt, with the kisses that the wind gives you and the hugs of the rain.
Get strong with bare feet on the ground and with everything that is born from it.
Get smarter every day by listening to your intuition, looking at the world with the Eye of your forehead.
Jump, Dance, Sing, so that you live happier.
Heal yourself, with beautiful Love, and always remember..
You are the Medicine. "

The Transition: From Stillness to Stirring Day Retreat with Annie Neat

8th March 10.30-16.00

We are standing at the threshold. Behind us, the deep hibernation of winter; ahead, the inevitable pull of Spring. But before we rush into the "doing" of a new season, we must first check in with the ‘being’.

I’ve designed this day to be a soft place to land. Using the blend of somatic therapy and yoga you know from my work, we will spend the day intentionally unravelling winter’s physical and mental holding patterns. We aren't just moving the body; we are tending to the nervous system, giving it the cues of safety it needs to bloom again.

Our Journey Together:

Somatic Unravelling and Breathwork: We’ll start by meeting the body where it is, using gentle somatic movement to release the grip of the colder months.

The Yin & Yang: A practice of two halves- building just enough heat to stir our stagnant energy before sinking into the deep, quiet medicine of Yin.

Nervous System Integration: A long, luxurious Restorative practice to anchor your state of calm.

Nature & Table: Mindful connection with the early March landscape and a shared, nourishing seasonal lunch.

This is your time to be held, to be fed and to remember how it feels to move from a place of genuine ease.

14th March 13.30-15.30

Eleanor is offering a workshop at the River Room called Vocal Evolution - Singing for well-being. This is open to everyone and you don’t already need to know how to sing. An opportunity to explore your voice with a variety of vocal exercises, guided improvisation as well as some meditation, movement and learning songs. I will then play some of my songs on vocals and guitar and the end.

Re-Emerging- Seeds of becoming- An Equinox Day Retreat with Helen Olivia

22nd March 11.00-16.30

As the wheel of the year turns, unite together in community, as we cross the threshold marking Nature's New year, welcoming and supporting individual and collective visions, a quiet invitation to begin again.

This retreat day is a ritual of re-emergence from winter’s inwardness to consciously step into the energy of Spring, nurturing the seeds of what is ready to grow. Through a thoughtfully crafted practice focusing on the hips and the liver & gallbladder meridians, we’ll work with the Wood element—the energetic pathways of growth, vision and soul-led direction.

Expect a grounding yet expansive intentional flow, designed to release stagnancy, restore vitality, inviting more life force and reconnect to your inner sense of purpose.

We will invoke Ganesha - Lord of beginnings and keeper of the thresholds through mantra and activation work to stoke and inspire your hearts desires.

Practice will be followed by a nourishing seasonal plant based lunch and space to connect with like minded women will offer some settling and integration time.

The afternoon will be one of visioning through meditation, and space to translate insight into intention through journaling, reflection and creative projects of your choice like vision boarding, creative writing, and future self invocations. A space to anchor your dreams as seeds ready to take root.

The final part of of the day will be one of Yin yoga and deep rest closing in circle space to seal the day.

**Weather depending, Helen would love to begin the retreat day by taking a walk in nature along the river, sitting with Mama Cacao in the Woods, amongst the trees to really be with the energy of growth, and allow intentions to stir and awaken.

We will meet just before 9.30am, so we can be back at the River Room for practice at 11am.

If your morning prohibits this, you may also join us at 11am to begin the retreat day.

Your day includes;

  • Optional morning nature walk & cup of Cacao

  • Vinyasa practice with activation work and intention setting

  • Plant based lunch

  • Afternoon visioning and creating

  • Yin practice and deep rest

  • Community space of sisterhood, connection and inspiration

Spaces are limited to protect the flow and energy of the container.
